Upcycled Cardboard Art

For these pieces I used cardboard packaging.. This substrate is widely available to me, cheap and creates a fantastic texture to all my art. Also I'm doing my bit for the planet. To find out why I love to use cardboard please read my blog.

Baby Blue Jelly Fish

Blue baby jelly fish is constructed entirely from carboard and textile threads. He is on a 3 inch square carboard piece . The background is sponged acrylic with added sparkle.

Sea Horse

My seahorse h is constructed entirely from carboard and textile threads. He is on a 3 inch square carboard piece . The background is sponged acrylic with added sparkle.

Green Turtle

My green turle is constructed entirely from carboard and textile threads. He does has some structure paste on his shell for added depth. He is on a 3 inch square carboard piece . The background is sponged acrylic with added sparkle.

Baby Purple Jelly Fish

Large Jelly Fish

My original Jelly fish. Mixed media on carboard. Acrylic background . Approx 7.5" x 8.5".

Blanche

Blanche is a baby owl with a fluffy head and fluffy feet. She is made from cardboard and mounted on a 6 x 6 inch backing piece. Her fluffy bits are made from inner box packaging and hessian threads.

Bee and yellow flower

Cardboard Base (3.5 x 4 inches). Acrylic paint with metallic watercolour, white highlighter pen and pastel pencils. Flowers created with cotton bud.

Tranquility

Wokingham in Bloom competition finalist piece.

Created with acrylics but I hardly used any brushes. The base layers were added with a sponge and the flowers, plants and water waves were added with various mark making tools. (Inc Credit card, tailors wheel, ear buds and detail applicators). Some white pen was used to add highlights.
